Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 Nov 2026
This policy explains what information State of Marketing ("we", "us") collects when you visit https://stateofmarketing.in (the "site"), how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request, for security and to keep the site running.
- Website analyzer. When you use our analyzer, the web address you enter is fetched by our server so it can be checked. We don't store the pages we fetch or link the addresses you check to you. To prevent abuse we keep a temporary count of checks per IP address for up to one hour. The speed test sends the address you enter directly from your browser to Google PageSpeed Insights, which is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Cookies and advertising
We use third-party advertising to support the site. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, through a consent message provided by Google. You can review or change your choice at any time using the Privacy & cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws (such as California) can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for targeted advertising. Where these laws apply to you, a Do not sell or share my personal information option is shown on the site by Google; using it limits ads to non-personalised ones.
Other visitors see a cookie banner on their first visit and can choose Essentials only (non-personalised ads) or Accept all. We remember that choice in one first-party cookie, som_consent.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are read and how people arrive. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose Accept all (or consent in Google's message); otherwise Google Analytics runs without cookies and receives only basic, cookieless signals. We use this information in aggregate and don't use it to identify you. Google processes it under its privacy policy.
Apart from advertising and analytics, the site does not set tracking cookies. Our Cookie policy lists the cookies in detail. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, understand which content is useful, and show advertising that funds the publication. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to its use. Email hello@stateofmarketing.in to make a request.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
External links
Our articles link to other websites. We aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.
