Free QR code generator
Create a QR code for a website, text, Wi-Fi network, UPI payment or phone number, then download it as PNG or SVG. No sign-up and no expiry.
This colour may be too light to scan. Dark colours on white work best.
What this QR code generator does
A QR code is a small square pattern that a phone camera can read to open a link or show information. This tool creates one in your browser for five common jobs: opening a website, showing text, joining a Wi-Fi network, paying through UPI, or calling a phone number.
What you type isn't sent to our server. The codes are static, which means the information sits inside the pattern itself. There's no account to keep active, and a code keeps working for as long as the link or details inside it stay valid.
PNG or SVG?
Use PNG for websites, social posts and documents. Use SVG when sending artwork to a printer, because it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a shop banner.
Ideas for using QR codes
- Restaurants and cafes: link a table card to your menu page, and put a Wi-Fi code by the counter.
- Shops: show a UPI code at billing, or link packaging to your reviews page.
- Events and flyers: link to a registration form rather than asking people to type an address.
- Business cards: link to your website or portfolio.
If you want customers to start a chat, use our WhatsApp link and QR generator instead, which adds a ready-to-send message.
How to make a QR code that scans first time
- Keep the contents short. Less information makes a simpler pattern that's easier to scan.
- Use a dark colour on a light background. Black on white is the safest choice. Light colours may not scan.
- Leave the white border in place. Scanners use this clear space to find the code, so don't crop it.
- Size it for the distance. About 2 cm to 3 cm square is a sensible minimum up close. Make it much bigger on posters.
- Test it on real phones. Scan the printed proof with more than one phone before you print the full run.
Before you use a UPI code
Check that your UPI ID is exactly right, then pay yourself or a friend a small amount as a test and confirm that the money and name are correct. Most UPI apps should read this format, but we can't promise that every app will. Static codes like this one don't confirm payments for you, so check your bank or UPI app before handing over goods. We never see or handle any payment.
Customers should also check the name shown in their app before paying. If you display a code in public, check it now and then to make sure nobody has stuck another code over it.
Track your QR code visits
Because the code simply opens a link, you can add tracking tags to the address to see in your analytics how many visits it brings. And before you send people to a page, run our page speed test, because most QR visitors will arrive on a phone.
